Mary Louise Hitchler Obituary

Mary Louise Hitchler, 99, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at home. Born May 13, 1921 in Lugerville, WI, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Hitchler.  She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and Indiana University with a Masters Degree.  She was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.  Mary Lou was a teacher with FWCS and retired from Holland Elementary School.  She was active in the community volunteering her time.  She loved to travel and played bridge into her 90's.  Mary Lou is survived by sister-in-law, Carole Hitchler; sister at heart, Linda Greaf; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.   Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her seven siblings. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 112 S. Clinton Street with calling one hour prior.  Father Tony Steinacker officiating.  Inurnment will be at Sunset Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha, WI at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Hospice or Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
