Kathryn Lynn (Rider) Johnson, age 77 of D'Iberville, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021. She was born in Valentine, NE on February 20, 1944, to the late Elmer Smith and Hazel Clapper Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sidney Johnson; her brothers, Delmer Smith and James Smith (her twin); her daughter, Tammy Reed; and her son-in-law, Mike (Jackie)Kuhlman.

Kathy is survived by her children, Cindy Olier (Kim), Jackie Reed, and Jason Johnson (Ashleigh); her sisters, Linda Harrison (Ross) and Pat Meck (John); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who all adored her.

She loved all occasions indoors or outdoors, where family gathered and cooked, be it turkey, ham, or crawfish.

Kathy worked in the hospitality industry all her life. She owned numerous establishments, including Kathy Rider's Lounge. Her last working years were spent at the Isle of Capri in Biloxi.

Being a member of Eagle Aerie #4535 (People Helping People) in D'Iberville, which she loved, enabled her to enjoy spending time with others and listening to Classic Country songs.

She met many people through the years who became lifelong friends that meant the world to her. Kathy was a good hearted, kind, and loving person. We are going to miss her dearly.

The family will be scheduling a Memorial Service at a later date.
