Bruce L. Hollering

<p>Bruce L. Hollering, 83, of Kent, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in the comfort of his home, with his family by his side.&nbsp; He was born in Lima, OH on January 21, 1938 to the late Harry and Irene Hollering.&nbsp;</p> <p>Bruce was a graduate of Lima High School, obtained his bachelor&rsquo;s degree from Ohio Northern University, his master&rsquo;s degree from Kent State University and his doctorate from The Ohio State University.&nbsp; He was employed as a sports medicine professor with Kent State University for several years and retired as Professor Emeritus from the University of Akron.&nbsp; He was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Kent and the American College of Sports Medicine.&nbsp; Bruce enjoyed gardening and physical activity.&nbsp; He was an exercise enthusiast and avid runner.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister Sharon Plaugher.</p> <p>He leaves his wife Kathryn Hollering; children, Brian (Kristin) Hollering, Jennifer (Tarik Regad) Hollering and Kristen Hollering; grandchildren, Benjamin, Katie, Sam and Will Hollering and Sophia and Adam Regad; sister Sheila Hullinger; sisters-in-law, Ruth Leite and Loretta Miles; and nieces and nephews, Scott Hullinger, Robin Hullinger, Cindy Smith, Doug Hullinger, Beverly Leite, Beth Voit, Peggy Garnes, Dee Soule, Joe Kvasnok, Amy Demchak and Peter Krosnosky.</p> <p>In honoring his wishes, Bruce will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.&nbsp;</p> <p>To Share a Memory, Send a Condolence or Light a Candle, please visit the Tribute Wall at www.bisslerandsons.com.</p>
