Charles Wayne Johnson Obituary

Charles “Wayne” Johnson, 62, of Salinas passed away suddenly on Friday, April 16, 2021. Wayne was born to Charles W. Johnson Sr. and Helen Johnson of Salinas. Wayne could accomplish anything he set his mind to and at a young age he became an accomplished photographer. When Wayne was younger he enjoyed working on movie sets, most notably BJ & the Bears from the early 1980’s. During the past 26 years Wayne worked for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services in Salinas. He was very passionate about his job and a strong advocate for all who were deaf or hard of hearing. He truly enjoyed serving the community. Wayne was preceded in death by his Father, Charles W. Johnson, and his Mother, Helen Johnson. He is survived by his close friend Kay Eggers and her family, Bob, Carly, Mitch, and Dr. Thomas Baughn, which he considered his family along with his loyal dogs Sarge and Patch. At his request no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Center (DHHSC), 5340 N. Fresno Street, Fresno, CA 93710.
