Donald Duane Allenbaugh, age 80, of Mattoon passed away at 11:27 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services honoring his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Duane was born on August 8, 1935 in Cumberland County, IL the son of Joseph Roy and Eva (Shafer) Allenbaugh. "He married Myrna Jeanne Miller on June 10, 1956. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by infant granddaughter, Carissa McCullough. Survivors include his son, Dalane (Laurel) Allenbaugh of Mattoon, IL; daughter, Joy White of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Patterson of Owasso, OK, Melanie (Josh) Campbell of Mattoon, IL, Allison (Jacob) Maynerich of Springfield, IL and Emily White of Springfield, IL; great grandson, Kastin Campbell; special friend, Joan Braun. Duane served honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a farmer and retired in 2005. Duane was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge Etna Wabash 179, Danville Consistory, Ansar Shrine in Springfield and a life member of the Eagles. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor are suggested to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Shriners Childrens Hospital.
