Irvin "Irv" M Wickert Obituary

Irvin M Wickert (“Wick”) of Omaha passes away on April 22, 2021. He was born on May 25, 1922 in West Point, Nebraska. He was a veteran of World War II fighting with the 1st Marine Division at Peleliu, Okinawa, New Guinea & Cape Gloucester, where he attained the rank of sergeant. He returned home and married his loving wife, Ellen. They had a strong Catholic faith and appreciated everything they had. Irv worked for OPPD, retiring as a foreman, in the transportation department. He loved his family, fishing, hunting, farming and volunteering with the work crew at St. Pius X Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; his daughter, Barbara; his parents and 7 siblings. He is survived by daughter, Sharon (Mike) Massara of Omaha; son, Donald (Kathy) Wickert of Omaha; grandchildren, Chris (Coco) Massara, Angela Coyle, Shawn (Tina) Coyle, Sarah Wickert, Mary Wickert, Ann (Chris) Bourque & Amanda Wickert; 7 great-grandchildren, Helen Coyle, Rhianna, Isabelle, Samuel, Elisabeth, Emma & Olivia Bourque; sister, Dorothy Fenseke, of Fremont. Visitation: Mon., April 26, 2021 from 6-7pm, with a rosary at 7pm, all at Braman Mortuary (72nd Street Chapel) Funeral Mass: Tues., April 27, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Pius Catholic Church (69th & Blondo). Interment: Calvary Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donation may be directed to St. Pius/St. Leo School.
