It is with a broken heart that I inform you that Dad passed away Monday, November 23, 2020, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Smelt Brook on May 10, 1940, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Dixon) Fitzgerald.
Bernie was a great Dad and terrific Poppy who loved his family more than anything.
Dad spent many years working at LeVatte Construction before he and Mom started their own company, Fitzgerald Baby Barns, which they ran until retirement.
Bernie is survived by his daughter Janine (Chris) Bonnar, grandchildren Sierra and Brayden, who he adored, son Shane Fitzgerald, sister-in-law Rose Fitzgerald, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his best friend and loving wife Margaret, sister Elizabeth in infancy, brothers John Rob, George, Neil and Vince, sister-in-law Martina, and a very special cousin and family friend Ellen Margaret.
