Gregg D. Butikofer

<p>Gregg D. Butikofer, age 74, of Lombard, IL and formerly of Quincy, IL, died April 18, 2021. Gregg was born Jan 10, 1947 in Quincy where he graduated from QHS in 1965 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Culver-Stockton College in 1969. He married Diane Horst on June 6, 1970.&nbsp;</p> <p>Most of Gregg&rsquo;s professional career was spent in traffic operations at Moorman Manufacturing Company/ADM in Quincy. He was also a founder and owner of Learning Adventures in Quincy for 13 years. In his spare time, Gregg enjoyed creating watercolor and multi-media artwork for which he won several national awards.</p> <p>Gregg was a faithful volunteer and leader in his church, serving in countless capacities throughout his life.&nbsp; Since moving from Quincy, Gregg was a member of St. John&rsquo;s Lutheran Church in Lombard, Il where he served on the Governing Board, as a Worship Assistant, on the finance team and in other ministries. Close to his heart was St. John&rsquo;s Mission to Nicaragua. Gregg spent many weeks each year in Nicaragua and served as the mission&rsquo;s financial director. He also spent time securing, packing and delivering supplies to Orphan Grain Train for shipment to Nicaragua. In addition to other community service, he was a weekly volunteer at SCARCE for many years.</p> <p>Gregg traveled widely both in the United States and abroad. He enjoyed sharing many of those special vacations with family, including a trip to Hawaii just a few weeks before his death.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diane; loving daughters Lori (Matt) Biswell of Quincy, IL and Gina (Paul) Garippo of Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren Abby (Matt) Howard, Blake Biswell, Brandt and Bennett Garippo; sister Colleen (Jerry) Westberg and brother Gary (Joy) Butikofer. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Winona Butikofer and granddaughter Emily Biswell.</p> <p>A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 22nd, from 4 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, IL 60148. On Friday, April 23rd at St. John&rsquo;s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln St., Lombard IL 60148, lying in state from 9 to 10 AM with Funeral Service beginning at 10 AM.
