PORTABELLA MUSHROOM SKIFFINGTON

Portabella passed away peacefully in the arms of her mom and dad on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 under the loving care of AVETS Hospital staff.

Portabella a/k/a “Mushroom!”, “Shroomy!”, and “Portabella Pupper Dogger!” was adopted 14 years ago on Mother’s Day by her mommy, JoyceAnn and big brother, Michael from Fayette Friends Animal Rescue. Her humans are quite sure she actually rescued them from a life of boredom and fur-free “fur-niture”.

Portabella immediately locked eyes on her “daddy” Mike Skiffington and it was love at first site for both! They were forever inseparable! She was constantly under her daddy’s feet, just waiting for food to fall on the floor while he cooked. She loved “dad’s” brisket, steak, and any other treat daddy gave her!

Portabella loved cuddling with her “mommy” on the recliner and on their deck by the fire! She also loved her mommy’s homemade waffles! She waited anxiously for the first waffle from the iron because she knew it was hers!

Portabella had many hobbies! She loved camping, enjoying her birthdays with daddy’s homemade hamburger and mashed potato icing cake, cuddling with her “hoomans”, meeting new friends and taking naps!

She will be greatly missed by so many but none more than her mommy, daddy, big brother and her special neighbor buddy, Sherry Huggins who played with her everyday in the yard and by the bonfire.

She is survived by many aunts and uncles who loved her dearly; however, she was especially fond of Aunt Cyndi & Uncle Larry Gettemy and Auntie Debbie Ploskina.

At the wishes of Portabella’s family, please give your fur-babies extra hugs, belly rubs, and special treats.

Portabella was a rescue who lived a very charmed life.

She wishes for all shelter animals to be adopted by a loving family, to live a Beautiful life too!
