Robert "Bob" Clifton Gaines
Robert Clifton Gaines Jr., 73, of Gaffney, SC, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born September 30, 1942, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Robert Clifton Gaines Sr. and Velma Miller Gaines. Mr. Gaines, who served in the National Guard, was a glazer (glass man) formerly employed with Jennings Paint and Glass and Piedmont Glass in Gaffney, SC. He was a quiet, gentle giant with a big heart; a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was a Redskins fan and loved to collect eagles. Mr. Gaines was a member of The Rock Tabernacle in Gaffney, SC. Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years, Judith Ann King Gaines; daughters, April Marie Raines (Arnold) of the home, and Miriam Lee Raines (Robert) of Texarkana, AR; son, Robert Clifton Gaines III of Miami, FL; four grandchildren; two sisters, and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at The Rock Tabernacle conducted by Pastor Ric Rhyne and the Rev. John H. Petty III.
