Mary Lou Mabry Pugh

Mary Lou Mabry "Nannie" Pugh, 90, of Pauline, passed over to be with the Lord and his angels on Monday, November 16, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 21, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Clem and Eleanor Gilliland Mabry of Pacolet Mills, SC. A lifelong native of Spartanburg County, she was born and raised in Pacolet Mills and lived most of her adult life with her husband, the late Paul Pugh, on Crest Circle in the Camp Croft community. For the past nine years, "Mama" made her home with her grandson and his wife, David and Wilma Pugh of Wofford Road in Pauline, where it was an honor and a privilege to have her. She will be forever missed. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens, and a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and helping hand to all. Survivors include four sons, James Pugh of Kissimmee, FL, Sherrill Pugh of Roebuck, Bobby Pugh and Johnny Pugh, both of Spartanburg; three daughters, Margaret Eubanks of Glendale, Dianne Mauldin of Boiling Springs, and Connie Henson of Roebuck; a sister, Jessie Poteat of Spartanburg; two grandsons, David and Darrell Pugh, raised in the home; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a special brother-in-law, Lloyd Pugh; a sister, Eva Harrison; and a brother, Ardell Mabry. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Pugh, Randall Eubanks, Benny Dean Henson, Jason Henson, Steve Faltermeier, and Jerry Fuller.
