<p>Lucille T. Chagnon, 79, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away on May 25, 2016 at PRMC in Salisbury, MD. <br>She was born in Gardner, MA on June 1, 1936 to the late Fred Tessier Sr. and Alfreda (Ross) Noel. <br>She was a member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church where she served as a lector. A life long teacher at every level of education including ten years at Rutgers University as a literacy teacher and coordinator, she has written three books focused on her work in literacy: Easy Reader, Learner, Writer, Voice Hidden Voice Heard: A Reading and Writing Anthology, and You Yes YOU Can Teach Someone To Read: A Step by Step How-to Book. <br>Lucille is survived by her loving spouse of 38 years, Richard J. Chagnon of Chincoteague Island, VA; Two Sons: Daniel J. Chagnon of Riverside, NJ, David L. Chagnon and his wife Rita of Riverside, NJ; Granddaughter: Sierra B. Chagnon of Riverside, NJ; Three Grandsons: Gavin J. Chagnon of Wilmington, DE, Evan J. Chagnon of Riverside, NJ, Aidan Chagnon of Riverside, NJ; Sister: Claudia Tessier and her husband Peter Waegemann of Berlin, Germany; several nieces and nephews. <br>She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Tessier, Sr., mother, Alfreda Noel, and brother, Fred Tessier, Jr.. <br>Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Chincoteague Island, VA , with Father Michael Imperial, officiating. <br>In lieu of flowers donations may be to Hearts and Friends PO Box 438 Chincoteague Island, VA 23336.
