Pastor George Mushatt, Jr. was called from labor to reward on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the blessed age of 80 years. He was born January 31, 1941 in Calhoun, Alabama, to George Mushatt, Sr. and Minnie Miles. Pastor Mushatt lived in Saginaw (Bridgeport), Michigan and attended Refuge Center Ministries, where he pastored alongside his wife, Apostle Relinda Kay Mushatt, before she preceded him in death. He worked for General Motors Corporation (Saginaw Malleable Iron) for many years and was affiliated with UAW Local 455 before retiring. In his spare time, he loved fishing and talking on his CB as the “Gingerbread Man.” His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. As Pastor and Co-Founder of Refuge Center, Pastor Mushatt served faithfully in ministry for many years. He was a great man of God, peaceful, full of faith and the Holy Spirit. He was a teacher and preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord and he loved helping others He worked tirelessly pastoring and ministering through Refuge Center Outreach Ministry food pantry. He was truly called to minister to those in need, giving out food and clothing the homeless. Pastor George leaves a tremendous legacy behind. He fully believed in living the life he preached about. He was loved and will be missed by many. Pastor George was preceded in death by his wife, Apostle Relinda Kay Mushatt; parents, George Mushatt and Minnie Miles; brothers, Hardiee, Namon and Amos Mushatt. He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy his loving wife, Daphne Mushatt; one daughter, Eisha (Sudi) McElroy; three sons, George III (Sonya), Ledell (Apryl) and Derrick Mushatt; stepchildren, Richard Bishop, Ertonya; grandchildren, Char’Tavia, Latreze, Genae, Ledell Jr., Rosa, Mar’Qywell, Denzel, Temyl, Kavon, Jasmine, Derion, ‘Lil Sudi Jr., Derrick Jr., Kyla and Cydnei, Mya West, Kania West, Ravonna Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, Jazmone Jones; siblings, Mary McCall, Lily Perkins, Georgia Barney, Minnie Blackmon, McKinley Mushatt, Dan (Octavia) Mushatt, Jesse (Georgia) Mushatt, David (Judy) Blackmon, Joseph (Sabrina) Blackmon; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Leon (Ona) Hill, Regina Mosley, and Ledell Mosley, Jr.; godchildren, Kenyata Berrien, John, Vincent, Jocelyn, Steven, Diema, Danyell and Varrick Stacy; many nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends, including special friends Mother Betty Sharer and Angela and Christine Bradley.
