Janet Lou Danklefsen, 79, of Bronson passed away Monday, April 19, 2021. A funeral service for Janet will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Mark Case officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson. Janet was born June 1, 1941 to Harry and Gladys (Wall) Mieras in Sturgis, MI, where she grew up on Big Hill Celery Farm. She graduated from Sturgis High School and went on to cosmetology school. Janet married John Rzepka and had three children. She later divorced and remarried Richard Danklefsen and he preceded her in death. She had worked at the Carriage Inn Convalescent Center (The Laurels) as a dietician and beautician for 20 plus years until her retirement. Additionally, Janet served as the Bethel Township Clerk for many years. Janet was an outgoing woman that adored animals; she even raised buffalo and had served as the past president of the Michigan Bison Association. She also had a passion for gardening, antiquing, and shopping, but above all, she loved her family. At times Janet could be a little strong willed, but it is that quality that made her so dedicated and loyal to her family and friends that will dearly miss her. Janet is survived by her life partner Arthur Preston of Bronson; her children Lori (Brian) Brewer of Bronson, Lynette (Mark) Cramer of Gobles, Luann (Michael Himebaugh) Rzepka of Bronson; her brother Donald Mieras of Sturgis, David (Jill) Mieras of Ann Arbor; six grandchildren Darren (Melinda Brown) Brewer, Gavin (Tasha Henson) Brewer, Hailey (Tyler Hutchens) Brewer, Jacob (Lindsey Brenne) Cramer, Bradley (Franckie) Smith, Dylan (Johnnie Dowell) Smith; 11 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Linda Mieras; her brother-in-law Malcolm Hearl; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Judith Hearl, one brother Dennis Mieras and her sister-in-law Joan Mieras. Memorial donations are suggested to The Naomi Davis Shelterhouse or to the Branch Co. Humane Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
