Maggie Jane Blaylock Obituary

Ms. Maggie Jane Goble Blaylock, 78, of Adairsville, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, after a short time under the care of Townsend Park Hospice Care.

Maggie was born on September 3, 1942, in Pickens County to the late Abe and Ola Priest Goble.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Goble; sister Janelle Ratcliff; son Randy Blaylock; daughter Sharon Blaylock.

Survivors include her sons Troy (Jennifer) Blaylock of Adairsville, Greg Blaylock of Adairsville; daughter Norma (Brian) Lanham of Acworth; sister, Martha (Jimmy) Rampley; grandchildren, Mandy Blaylock, Aspen Blaylock, Tucker Blaylock, Jessica Herdon, Olivia Lanham; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; beloved dog, Waylon Cole.

Maggie loved to fly.  She was the first woman in Gordon County to get her pilot’s license.  She enjoyed being outside, gardening and canning while listening to country and bluegrass.  She loved her family deeply and would do anything for them.

The funeral service for Maggie Blaylock will be conducted Wednesday, April 21, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Clyde McEntyre officiating.  Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour.  Pallbearers are Chris Ratcliff, Gary Pettit, Shannon Payne, Kyle Brown, Brent Hollingsworth, and Randall (Turtle) Storey.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, social distancing and masks are encouraged.  No food or drinks are allowed inside the funeral home.  We are sad to announce that our family lounge is closed.
