Josephine Pillitteri Obituary

Josephine (D'Eramo) Pillitteri passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 19, 2021. She was 103 years old. Mrs. Pillitteri was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT to Lillian and Manfredo D'Eramo on August 8, 1917. She met and married her husband, Joseph in 1938. Together, they lived Lakewood where they started an egg delivery business in addition to raising their three daughters. She was a parishioner of St. Mary by the Lake Catholic Church. Josephine was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who devoted herself to her family. She enjoyed hosting Sunday spaghetti dinners and baking special birthday cakes for her family. She was an avid reader. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Joseph in 2001, her daughter, Lillian Woolley in 2017, and her two siblings, Marilyn Susi, and Joseph Susi. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Gatt and her husband Charles of Monroe Twp., and Diana Beckman and her husband Gene of Allentown, her son-in-law, Rod Woolley of Brick, six grandchildren, Dr. Charles Gatt and his wife Kim, Marisa Carver and her husband Jon, Maria Bolderman and her husband Bruce, Gina McNamara and her husband Bill, Peter Myers and his wife Michele, and Elizabeth Heath and her husband Clay, 12 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the home caregivers who took such wonderful care of Josephine for the last eight years, Natalia, Nargizi, Nadia, and Julia. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 and from 10:00am to 10:30am on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:30am on Friday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 12:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, One Honey Locust Dr. Lakewood, NJ 08701. In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
