Monica Smith, 84 years of age, passed on Friday, April 9th, at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Monica was born on April 25, 1936, in Georgetown, Guyana, to the late Leslie DeJonge Sr. and Doris Sybil Haynes. She was the second blessing of five children, and two preceded her in death. Barbara and Leslie DeJonge Jr. will continue the strong legacy born from the DeJonge’s lineage. Monica’s pride and joy were her eight children, Fay Teixeira, Lindon Mingo, Eion Haynes, Yvette Smith, Andrea Smith-Robinson, Sonya Smith, Semone Smith, and Deborah Smith. They will carry on her memory in addition to nephews and nieces and many grand and great-grandchildren. Rest In Power Mommy!!!!
