REHOBETH. . .Willa Jean Cutchen Hardy, a resident of Rehobeth, passed away early Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2021, at Westside Terrace. She was 94. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Free officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, between Dothan & Headland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Rehobeth Baptist Church “Building Fund”, 4444 South State Highway 605, Dothan, AL 36301. Mrs. Hardy was a native of Newville in Henry County. She lived in Rehobeth most of her lifetime where she was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. Mrs. Hardy was retired as the owner and sole operator of Hardy’s Grocery in Rehobeth for over fifty years while raising five children. She loved her community and being a steadfast service and help to her customers, who she came to love. To know her was to absolutely love her. She radiated joy and had a smile and personality that would light up any room she was in. She was an amazing mother who loved her children so very well. She was an amazing grandmother who loved so very well! She was adored by all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Olin Cutchen, her mother, Willie Bea Herring Cutchen, her step-mother, Martha Knowles Cutchen, two daughters, Terry Brewer and Renee Hardy, a son, Creig Hardy, two grandchildren, Kimberly Nichole “Nikki” Hayes and Lane Hardy, and a brother, Edward Cutchen. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Lynn Cole (Ronnie), Rehobeth; a son, Scott Hardy, Rehobeth, a son-in-law, Dale Brewer, Columbus, MS; six grandchildren, Brad Hardy (Kim), Clay Hardy (Amy), Sara Brewer, Allison Love, Amee Love (Alan), and Amber Cole; nine great-grandchildren.
