Aliano, Angelo, age 89, of Hawthorne, on Sunday, April 18, 2021. Born in Solarino, Italy, Angelo came to the U.S. settling in the Riverside section of Paterson in 1958. He was a resident of Hawthorne for the last 25 years. In Milano, Italy, Angelo served in the military state police and went on to operate his own business, Aliano Brothers Roofing and Siding until his retirement in 1997. A former parishioner of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Paterson, Angelo later became of parishioner of St. Anthony’s R.C. Church in Hawthorne. In his spare time, Angelo was an avid gardener, card player, and loved taking trips to the beach, especially Wildwood, Sandy Hook, and Aruba. He was the former treasurer of the Solarino American Society. Angelo was the beloved husband of Santa (nee Calafiore) Aliano for 63 years. Loving father of Salvatore Aliano and his wife Stephanie of Elmwood Park, Paul Aliano and his wife Roseann Hawthorne, Carmela Guarnieri and her husband Aldo of Hawthorne, and Maria Lacz and her husband Scott of Wyckoff. Grandfather of Michael Aliano, Jaclyn Mishin and her husband Pavel, Salvatore P. Aliano and his wife Angie, Christopher Aliano and his wife Meaghan, Anthony Aliano, Paul Guarnieri and his fiancé Sara, Angelo Guarnieri and his fiancé Caitlin, Alex Guarnieri, Cristina Guarnieri, Scott Lacz, Carli Lacz, and Chase Lacz. Great grandfather of Natalie, Noah, and Salvatore. Brother of Santo Aliano and his wife Rosa, Antonina Mazzotta, Giuseppa Guarnieri, and Giuseppe Aliano and his wife Nella. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, at 10:30am, meeting at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, 276 Diamond Bridge Avenue, Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Hawthorne Ambulance Corps, 970 Goffle Road, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
