ARNOLD, John Harlan – of Cadillac, age 79, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Munson Cadillac Hospital in Cadillac. Private family service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Bob Leming officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation. John was born April 15, 1942 in Big Rapids, Michigan to the late Harlan and Marion (Dempkey) Arnold. He moved to Montrose in 1955 and graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1963. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Harlan worked for Buick-GM as a Machinist with 31 years of service. He was a Boy Scout, Boy Scout Leader and Coached softball for the Flushing Nazarene Church. John also coached Baseball for the New Lothrop Little League Baseball team. He enjoyed playing the spoons and the washboard. John was the President and one of the founder of the Old Country Church. He served as the Sunday School Superintendent and Bus Minister for the Flushing Nazarene Church and the Montrose Nazarene Church for several years. John also had a couple of nicknames such as "Fireball" and "Spoonman". Surviving are: Children, John (Vicki) Arnold, Tom (Laura) Arnold, Rick (Kristine) Arnold, Brian (Annette) Arnold, Tammy (Victor) Hyde; Grandchildren, Krystal (Garrett), Jazz, Symphony, Christopher, Stephen, Jonathon, Alaina, Grayson, Aaron, Breanna, Nate, Makenzi; Great- Granddaughter, Bailey; Mother of his Children, Helen Prince; Siblings, George Arnold, Charlie Arnold, Carol Harris; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Long time Companion, Carol Canfield; Brother, James Arnold; Nephew, Ron Arnold; Brother in law, Gary Harris.
