Susan Kay Holmes

Susan Kay Holmes, 55, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Friday morning, April 16, 2021, at her home. SUSAN KAY HOLMES was born February 24, 1966 in Hillsboro, Oregon. She was raised and received her education in the Hillsboro community, having been a graduate of the Hillsboro High School Class of 1984. She was united in marriage to David R. Holmes on March 21, 2011 in Banks, Oregon. They celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary this past March. Following their marriage, they have made their home in the Forest Grove community. Susan worked as bartender at the Circle Inn in Forest Grove for nine years, until she retired, because of ill health. She was a member of the Cornelius Eagles Lodge Aerie # 4177. Among her special interests, Susan enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald McCue and her granddaughter, Savannah Cleys. Survivors include her husband, David Holmes, of the family home in Forest Grove, Oregon; her mother, Mickey Heagle, of Hillsboro, Oregon; her three daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Bruce Herb, of Cornelius, Oregon; Jessica and Brandon Newton, of Gaston, Oregon and Britney Wilson and Ryan Evers, of Hillsboro, Oregon and her four siblings, Gary McCue, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Kimberly McCue, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Ray Gillespie and Toby Gillespie, both of Eastern Oregon. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Vanessa Reynolds, Benjamin Reynolds, Dominick MacIntosh, Aurora Evers and Riley Newton and several nieces and nephews.
