Victor G. Ranieri West Chester, Pennsylvania Obituary

Victor G. Ranieri

Victor Ranieri was born in West Philadelphia on June 4, 1939, son of the late Antonio and Carmela Ranieri, immigrants from Guardiagrele, Italy. His four older brothers (Nick, Tony, Carmen and James) and two older sisters (Mary, and one who died in early infancy) all preceded him in death. He is also predeceased by his wife Patricia Ann (née Molittieri) and his daughter Dana Ann (Borghi/Bender) of Aldan, PA. After high school, Victor took a job in sales at Gimbel's on 69th Street, Philadelphia, and quickly proved to be an outgoing, social salesman. Rising through the ranks, he would go on to manage many stores, people and merchandise during his time there. Over the course of his career in sales, he showed his versatility by changing products and specialties, eventually selling Real Estate. With this, he helped make his daughters' dreams of owning homes possible. Victor met Patty Molittieri, a popular American Bandstand regular, and married her in September 1965. They had two daughters, Dellane and Dana. Patty passed suddenly in July, 1979. Through the years, Victor and his daughters often attended American Bandstand reunions, representing Patty. Victor's belief in the importance of family, either by blood or by friendship, was instilled in his daughters and their families. He taught the family the value of a good work ethic, and how to face the uncertainty of age and illness with courage and dignity. His humor remained intact throughout his final journey. Victor is survived by his one living daughter, Dellane Develin (Colin), four grandsons, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter, as well as his extended family, including his beloved inlaws and friends. A private remembrance service is planned for May 8th.
