Michael A. Davis Sr.

<p>Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael Alan Davis Sr. was born on March 21, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Lucille Hayes Davis and Jack Johnson.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael who was affectionately known as &ldquo;Big Mike&rdquo; was educated in the Philadelphia and Washington D.C. School Systems.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was raised in church all of his young life and accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as his personal Lord and Savior.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael met the love of his life, Darlene Gaines, whom he fell in love with at first sight and swept her off her feet. They were wed in holy matrimony on October 7, 2006.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael began working at a young age. He held jobs at Budd Company, a manufacturer of auto parts, as a Manufacturing Production Associate and at IBEW Local 98 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He retired from IBEW Local 98 in 2012&nbsp;as an&nbsp;IT Engineer.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael loved and adored his only son, who he affectionately referred to as &ldquo;Sport&rdquo;. His face always lit up when he spoke about him. He also had great love for his dog &ldquo;Sugar&rdquo; who, is a member of the family and was his best friend.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael had a love for fashion and was dapper at all times, he loved to cook and did most of the cooking. He often made Shepard&rsquo;s Pie for people in the neighborhood. He had a great sense of humor, which made everyone who encountered him laugh. He had a love for motorcycles, horses, gadgets and luxury cars, Jaguar was his favorite car.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael departed from this earth and entered the presence of the Lord peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021 in his home.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters Willa Jean Price &ldquo;Tootsie&rdquo; and Jeannette Delores Lomax &ldquo;Lois&rdquo;. Michael leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Darlene; son, Michael Jr. (Bridget); beloved grandchildren, Michael &ldquo;Trey&rdquo;, Myeisha, Mehki; one great-granddaughter,&nbsp;Mi&rsquo;yuri; brothers, Curtis (Cheryl) and Robert; sister-in- laws, Yolanda (Wendell) and Carolyn;&nbsp;brother-in-laws, William (Margaret) and Ronald; one uncle, Leroy Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Submitted With Love,</p> <p>The Family</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Michael Alan Davis Sr. was born on March 21, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Lucille Hayes Davis and Jack Johnson. 

 

Michael who was affectionately known as “Big Mike” was educated in the Philadelphia and Washington D.C. School Systems.  He was raised in church all of his young life and accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as his personal Lord and Savior.

 

Michael met the love of his life, Darlene Gaines, whom he fell in love with at first sight and swept her off her feet. They were wed in holy matrimony on October 7, 2006.

 

Michael began working at a young age. He held jobs at Budd Company, a manufacturer of auto parts, as a Manufacturing Production Associate and at IBEW Local 98 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He retired from IBEW Local 98 in 2012 as an IT Engineer.

Michael departed from this earth and entered the presence of the Lord peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021 in his home. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters Willa Jean Price “Tootsie” and Jeannette Delores Lomax “Lois”. Michael leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Darlene; son, Michael Jr. (Bridget); beloved grandchildren, Michael “Trey”, Myeisha, Mehki; one great-granddaughter, Mi’yuri; brothers, Curtis (Cheryl) and Robert; sister-in- laws, Yolanda (Wendell) and Carolyn; brother-in-laws, William (Margaret) and Ronald; one uncle, Leroy Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
