Robert Wade Vedder

Robert Wade Vedder was born on September 3, 1940 in Blum, Texas. He was the son of Edgar Lloyd and Margaret Jewel (Reynolds) Vedder. Robert was reared in Blum, Texas, Tignall, Georgia, and Oklahoma. He graduated highschool from Wilkes County Schools in Georgia. He was inducted into the United States Army in 1958 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1960.<br /><br />Robert was united in marriage to Barbara Robinson on January 17, 1964 in Cleburne, Texas. They made their home in Cleburne. To this union one son, Lloyd, was born. He worked as a Dr. Pepper Route Salesman and was also self employed and later he worked assembling aircrafts.<br /><br />He enjoyed going on drives with Barbara and going to all of Lloyds athletic events. He later attended his grandchildren and his great-grandsons events as well. He also liked watching tv and visiting on the phone with friends, but spending time with his family and friends is what brought him the most joy in life.<br /><br />Robert passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his home in Woodward.<br /><br />He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Vedder; mother, Jewel Heard; and his loving wife, Barbara.<br /><br />Robert is survived by his son, Lloyd Vedder and wife Christy of Woodward, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Macy Vedder of Encinitas, California, Luke Vedder of Lubbock, Texas, and Kole Vedder of Lubbock, Texas; one great-grandson, Graham Vedder of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Madeline Poteet and husband Eddie; other family members and friends.
