<p>Nicholas M. Pope, 38, of Carbondale, PA, (formerly of Jim Thorpe, PA) unexpectedly passed away Friday, April 9, 2021. Nick was born February 2, 1983 in Brooklyn, NY and was a Jim Thorpe area resident for most of his life.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving mother and father, Gregory and Lucia Ann Pope of Jim Thorpe; his loving and devoted wife Stephanie Dakis-Pope; son, Leonidas Pope; two sisters, Luciana and Francesca Pope; father-in-law, George Dakis; mother-in-law, Ann Viesti; five sister-in-law's; Bonnie-Marie Dakis (Jason Steinbrecher), Christine Howell (Peter), Danielle Strause (Justin); Sarah Anderson (Brian), Cassandra Dakis (Ben Peters); nieces and nephews; Marcello and Aida Pope, Benjamin VonOtto Steinbrecher, Kayleigh and Peter Jackson Howell and Justin Strause.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick graduated with the 2001 class of Jim Thorpe High School. As a tri-athlete, he played basketball, football and baseball. He was an animal lover, an avid baseball player, and enjoyed sports memorabilia, ancient history, music and watching NASCAR.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick's proudest accomplishment was being a father to his son, Leonidas. He will be forever missed in the hearts of his family and friends as a loving, caring and compassionate soul.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of Nick's life was held on Sunday, April 18th, 2021 at the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club in Jim Thorpe, PA from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with an outdoor memorial service at 3:00 p.m.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, condolences in memory were sent to: 49 Grove St, Carbondale, PA 18407.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. &amp; Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.</p>
