Michele H. "Mickey" of Margate City, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 in AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway Township, NJ. Mickey was born to Margaret (nee Casey) Hunt and Thomas V. Hunt in Philadelphia, PA on May 30, 1935. She attended Saint James School in Ventnor and Holy Spirit High School. Mickey married the late Joseph Patrick "Nick" Brennan, and she was a devout mother to five children: Michele Gillian (Jay), Joseph Brennan (Theresa), Casey McDonald (Jim), Maureen DeMarco (John) and Mia Melhem (John). Known as "Big Mimi" to her 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Mickey never forgot a birthday or special event and always sent memorable messages of congratulations to her grandchildren after sporting events, musical shows, dance recitals or just to say, "Hi". Following high school graduation, Mickey worked for the Miss America Organization and was a model for the Marie McCullough Agency for over 40 years, gracing the runways of Atlantic City, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Later in her career, Mickey returned to the Miss America Organization as a Miss America Companion. She traveled the country mentoring six Miss America's and was a dear friend to each of them. She also worked at La Clotique and Jules of Margate and ended her career at the Atlantic City Convention Center where her loving smile lit up "the Hall". Mickey was an active and proud member of Pi Nu, Charity League, Marie McCullough Modeling Agency and Blessed Sacrament Church. Mickey's flare for fashion and grace will always be remembered as she left a lasting impression on all who visited her Pembroke Avenue home in Margate. Big Mimi's house was a special place full of love, laughter and great beach days! A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Mickey on Saturday, April 17th 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church Jerome and Ventnor Avenues in Margate, City, NJ.
