Alton Stefan Askins was born on April 21, 1953 in Duncan to Harold Glen Askins and Donna Mae (Vaught) Askins. He passed away on April 13, 2021 at the age of 67 in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Graveside Service is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Stephens County Honor Guard.

Stefan graduated from Duncan High School with the Class of 1971. He worked in construction for many years after serving in the United States Army. Stefan married Becky Diane Allen on January 19, 1979 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Stefan loved watching OU football, even getting to help build the brick wall at the OU stadium. He loved the outdoors especially just driving around the lake watching deer. He enjoyed fishing and listening Christmas music, always wanting to get ready for Christmas early. He loved making peanut brittle and bbq ribs. Stefan loved his family dearly especially his children and grandchildren.

Stefan is survived by his wife, Becky Askins, two daughters: Stefanie Prather and husband Daniel; Angela Plant and husband Harley; four grandchildren: Teague Prather; Brooklynn Prather; Ava Askins; Xzander Liles; a brother-in-law, Vernon Hunt, sister, Roberta O'Neal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Polly Hunt, and brother-in-law, David O'Neal.
