Adam Wayne Rice, age 43 passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. Adam was the son of Wayne and Marilyn Rice, born March 22,1978 in Durant, OK. Adam grew up in Carthage, MO and spent the majority of his adult life in the Kansas City area, recently moving to Springfield. Adam was attending the South Creek Church in Springfield. Adam completed his GED and was a painter by trade. Survivors include his mother, Marilyn, of Joplin, a brother, Andrew (Charlotte), of Oronogo, a sister, Emily King (Mic) of San Gabriel, CA., His children, Zachary Rice (Katie) of Oak Grove, MO, Michaela and Piper Rice of Grain Valley, MO, Mayla Rice of Shawnee, KS and Erian and Easton Rice of Independence, MO. and one granddaughter Ava Rice of Oak Grove, Mo;, as well as several nieces and nephews. Adam was preceded in death by his father, Wayne, paternal and maternal grandparents and 2 uncles. A memorial service will be held at Mason Woodard Chapel on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 10am. Family requests in lieu of flowers contributions to made to benefit Adam’s children. Contributions can be made via check for the Adam’s children's fund payable to Marilyn Rice.
