Paula A.(Doherty) Lehan Obituary

Paula Ann Lehan, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on April 10th, 2021. Born to William J. Doherty and Claire J. (Burke) Doherty of Brockton on July 11th, 1938. She was a 1956 graduate from Ursuline Academy in Boston, MA. She earned her B.A in education from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY in 1960. She taught English for several years at the old Brockton High School in Brockton before leaving to raise three children. She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton and taught CCD for many years there. When her children were older, she returned to the field of education as a substitute teacher for several years. Paula was a wonderful, loving, and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker, Grandmother, cousin, and friend. God, her Catholic faith, and family were the most important to her. Since childhood, she looked forward to vacations on Cape Cod, swimming, and being near the ocean. She loved spending time with her family and friends, the Blessed Mother and the rosary, traveling, dining out, laughing, reading, planting a small garden in the spring, a good sale at Talbots on the Cape, and her beloved pet dogs. She was known for her love of the English language, sharing the faith, and her excellent sense of humor. Paula was predeceased by her loving husband of 37 years, Paul F. Lehan, a lifelong resident of Brockton and an Attorney at Law. Paula is survived by her daughter Maria T. (Lehan) Newcomer and her husband Edward of Greenville, NH, a son Paul F. Lehan Jr. and his wife Diane of Norton, MA, a daughter Karen Ann Lehan of Brockton, three beautiful grandchildren Jacob, Emma and Liz Lehan of Norton, and her two fur grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William J. Doherty Jr. and his wife Mary of Marion, MA, two nephews, several cousins, and many friends. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 15th in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.(Rt.123) Brockton from 9:00am to 10:30am thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 11:00am. Interment will follow at 1:15pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
