Gail K. Gendreau Obituary

Gail Karen (Lawrence) Gendreau, 85, from Plymouth Wisconsin, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on April 10th in La Crosse Wisconsin, with her daughters and granddaughter by her side, after a strong-willed battle with cancer. She was born on September 28, 1935 in Plymouth WI to Fern and Hazel (Wolf) Lawrence. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953.  She met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Gendreau, and they married December 31, 1953. Bob and Gail had two daughters, Robin Grasse and Renee Weedman.   Gail enjoyed working at Sargento Foods for over 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, reading books, doing puzzles, camping, fishing, and sunny vacations in Florida with family and friends. Gail had a witty and sassy sense of humor right up to the end.   She is survived by her daughters, Robin Grasse of La Crosse, WI and Renee (Mike) Weedman of Grand Rapids; MN; her grandchildren, Travis (Arielle) Weedman of Portland, OR, Jen Grasse of La Crosse, WI, Natalie (Mitch) Mulder of White Salmon, WA, Ryan (Jenny) Grasse of Austin, TX, Samantha (Brandon) LaDoux of Grand Rapids, MN, and Chris (Jess) Grasse of Omaha, NE; grandson-in-law, Max Trane of La Crescent, MN; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Wayne Gendreau; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and George Spieker; many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; daughter, Kim; granddaughters, Christine Grasse and Lynn Trane; grandson-in-law, Nathan Junker; her parents; her brother, Bobby Lawrence; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jackie & Willard Schram.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff of Gundersen Health System Hospice for their love, care, and support.  To honor Gail’s request, there will be no funeral service; a private memorial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, all donations will go to Gundersen Medical Foundation – Hospice Program in Gail’s memory. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.dickinsonfuneralhomes.com.
