Helen grew up in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia with her parents William and Helen, and four brothers; George, William, Francis and Tommy. Helen and Larry married in 1949 and together ran a family business. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family. Big Sunday family dinners were the norm and life events and celebrations always brought the entire extended family together at Helen and Larry’s with Helen as the hostess. In her later years, she was blessed with time to travel. She looked forward to her trips to the Jersey shore and the Pocono Mountains with her relatives and the St. Richard’s Seniors. She traveled to Europe and cruised the Caribbean. She never missed a Phillies game on television and still loved them when they lost. She was a serious pinochle player, bowled in the Thursday afternoon league at Wynnewood Lanes and never missed a Tuesday afternoon Bingo game at Surrey Senior Center in Havertown. But the true loves of her life were her 7 grandchildren; Cara Seker (DiFiore), Eric Falkenberg, Luke Falkenberg, Abby Long, Sara Long, Kali Falkenberg and David V. Amadio. She was predeceased by her grandson Andrew DiFiore. When she passed, she was only weeks away from meeting her first great-grandchild,Grace Naomi.
