Ronald Carlton

CARLTON, Ronald. – of Flint, age 85, died Friday, April 9th, 2021 at McLaren of Flint. Honoring Ronald’s wish cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Donations in his name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Ronald was born on August 9th in 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Clarence (Margaret Gage) Carlton and Francine (Amos Burge) Perrigo. Ronald was in the Army during the Korean War and spent time in France while active. He then married Ruth (Case) in 1961. Ronald was an avid outdoorsman, he had a passion for archery and was president of the Land-O-Lakes Bowmen in Fenton, Michigan, and a member of the Frankenmuth Flight Club. Ronald was a talented man and this landed him in many Archery and Outdoor magazines. He was the typical Michigan man who loved any outdoor activities, animals, his family, and work. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, time at the Indian Lake Cabin near Tawas and spending time looking at the wildlife in his backyard pond. He was a compassionate man and loved Ruth and his family with all his heart. If you knew him, you could probably recall one of his many stories because he loved telling stories and jokes. You knew he was a hardworking man, sociable and smart. He loved inventing things and being a part of something big. He loved going to places with his friends, Al Vaugne & Nelson Aho and being with his friends from GM and the flight club of Frankenmuth for breakfast. Surviving are: Wife Ruth Carlton of Clio; Children: Margaret (Dean) Peters of Beaver Island, Daniel Steven Carlton of Clio, Sherry Bull-Carlton of Clio and Michele Carlton of Clio; Grandchildren: Melissa Peteres and Matthew Marchesano. He will be sorely missed by all. O'Guinn Family Funeral Home Clio 810-686-5070
