Anna Mays

<p>Anna was born on February 27, 1931, to the union of Katie&nbsp;Anderson Conway and Andrew Conway in Oldenburg,&nbsp;Mississippi. She was the 5th child of 12 (3 sisters and 5&nbsp;brothers preceded her in death). Anna moved to Port Gibson,&nbsp;Mississippi as a young child where she received her general&nbsp;education.&nbsp;On July 17, 1948, Anna married Rether Mays (who preceded&nbsp;her in death). In 1951, they moved to St. Louis, MO. Anna and&nbsp;Rether shared 66 years together and to this union was born two&nbsp;sons,, Thomas &amp; Kenneth Mays. Anna had four adopted&nbsp;children Paul Lewis, Angela Miles, Sherri Mays-Jacobs, and&nbsp;Matthew Mays.&nbsp;Anna received Christ as her Lord and Savior at the tender age&nbsp;of 12, under the leadership of Reverend Leather at Welcome&nbsp;Missionary Baptist Church in Port Gibson, Mississippi. Anna&nbsp;joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in St .Louis, MO in&nbsp;1954 where she was a faithful servant until the day the Lord&nbsp;called her home. Anna was a choir member for 15 plus years,&nbsp;singing with the Gospel Chorus and the Mass Choir; she was a&nbsp;Sunday School Teacher; assisted with Vacation Bible School; a&nbsp;member of the Missionary Society; a member of the Pastor&nbsp;Love Club; the leader of the Repast Ministry and the President&nbsp;of the Mother Board. She also served as a member of the&nbsp;Prison Ministry. She was devoted to the growth of the kingdom&nbsp;of God.&nbsp;Anna had a passion for serving others. She worked in the&nbsp;nursing field for 22 years at Barnes-Jewish and Saint Louis&nbsp;University Hospitals. Anna had a large heart and always&nbsp;welcomed everyone with open arms. She was a prayer warrior.&nbsp;She loved sewing, football, baking, cooking and spending time&nbsp;with her family.&nbsp;</p>
