Irving Cross HOOSICK FALLS, New York Obituary

Irving Cross

A wonderful man who always loved a “family gathering” would have been happy as he passed into the arms of our Lord, because his family was with him. Irving “Milton” Cross, 92, passed away on Wednesday April 7th, at his residence on Bovie Hill Road. He resided there with his wife Dorothy “Dottie” (Spier) Cross. Milton was born on June 23, 1928, in Troy, NY, son of Irving and Mary (Dickson) Cross. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School. Milton grew up on the family farm on the Pine Valley Road and later worked the farm for many years. He eventually left the farm life and became owner of Cross Dairy Equipment, servicing farms in a very wide area, with their milking parlors, bulk tanks, silo unloaders and more! Milt was a long-time member of the West Hoosick Baptist Church, serving as a Trustee for many years; he also served on the West Hoosick Cemetery Association Board of Directors. He was a Charter Member of Rensselaer County Farm Bureau and also served on their Board of Directors. Survivors other than his wife Dottie include their children Irving Cross, Virginia Ruble (Michael), Ronald Colvin (Julie), Craig Colvin (Pollyanna) and Kimberlee Colvin, his sisters Gertrude Carpenter and Eleanor Dreskin. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Milton was predeceased by a grandson Stephen Colvin. A Celebration of Milton's Life, will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 3:00 pm, from the West Hoosick Baptist Church, on the Buskirk West Hoosick Road (County Rt 103).
