October 17, 1940 – April 8, 2021

Cordula C. (Ewers) Hake Hibdon, 80, of Mary’s Home, Missouri, passed away April 8, 2021, at Miller County Care Center in Tuscumbia, MO. surrounded by her children.  She was born October 17, 1940, in St. Anthony, the daughter of George and Mary (Volmert) Ewers.  Cordie was married to Alfred Hake on February 16, 1957 who proceeded her in death on March 6, 1983.  Cordie married John Hibdon on May 4, 1985 who proceeded her in death on July 29, 2002.

Cordie was a member of the Etterville Christian Church.  While Cordie was skilled in various professions she spent most of her years with the Missouri Automobile Dealers Association and the Conservation Federation of Missouri.  However, her most favored was being a waitress while living in Louisiana, MO.  One of her greatest passions was Dancing and she spent many hours doing a good waltz.  In her younger years she was often found on a lake water skiing.  Cordie was also known for her skills at the sewing machine.  She was able to craft many fine suits, drapes, dresses, costumes, and the list goes on.  Cordie played a mean game of pitch, loved working Word Search puzzles and beat the best of them at Wheel of Fortune up to the very end.  One thing many people remember and commented on was her fashionable dress and her beautiful smile.  She loved her family and so enjoyed the time they shared together.

Survivors include:

Three children: Karla (Jim) Libbert, Eugene, Alan (Donna) Hake, Mary’s Home, and Charles Hake of Eugene, MO.

Five Grandchildren: Shane (Morgan) Libbert, Kevin (Jenny) Raithel, Hailey Steinhardt, Javan Steinhardt and Gianna Cordula Hake

Four great grandchildren: Quinn Libbert, Sadie, Owen and Lainey Raithel

Sisters: Frieda Schaffer, Cary, NC, Sister Victoria Ewers, FSM, St. Louis, Mary Struemph, Jefferson City and Patsy Ewers (sister-in-law), St. Anthony.  Along with several nieces and nephews.

Cordie is also survived by the members of the Sparks family who were close friends for many years; Brenda Collins and Vicky Aldridge and their families.

Other survivors include a step-daughter, Pam (Hibdon) Santic, and step-son, Ike Hibdon, along with many step grandchildren and great-grandchidren.

She was also proceeded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Ray, siblings, Cecilia Baer, Sister Mary Roseanne Ewers, Anna Schaffer, Angela Schulte, John Ewers and 2 infant sisters.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kevin Collins officiating.  Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery in Mary’s Home, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
