A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Egan for Jake Trahan, 89, who died Friday, April 9, 2021 at 5:55 a.m. at Acadia Extended Care Hospital in Crowley. Mr. Trahan was a member of St. Michael Church-Egan, Iota-Egan Lions Club and Louisiana National Guard. Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Michael, will officiate for the service. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Sensat Cemetery in Egan. Mr. Trahan is survived by his wife of 71 years, Genevieve Clement Trahan of Egan; three daughters, Sandra McFarlain and her husband Terry of Evangeline, Susan LaCombe and her husband Kenneth of Egan, Laura Faul and her husband Mark of Egan; three sons, Randy Trahan and his wife Emma of Crowley, Ricky Trahan and his wife Enola of Egan, Jake Trahan, II and his wife Denise of Egan; one brother, Harvey Trahan of Walker; 18 grandchildren, Tara Haney (Adam), Sarah Olimb (Lance), Emily McOlgan (Drew), Anna Brooke Stogner (Steven), Chris McFarlain, Eric McFarlain (Sumer), Rusty McFarlain, , Travis Trahan (Liz), Nathan Trahan (April), Reese Trahan, Grayson LaCombe (Haylie), Josh LaCombe (Renee), Kyle LaCombe, Michael Trahan (Amanda), Jerratt Trahan, Jake (Tray) Trahan, III (Hilary), Meredith Hebert (Layne) and Mallory Faul and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Seth Trahan; his parents, William and Addie Hanks Trahan; one brother, Robert Trahan. Pallbearers will be Christopher McFarlain, Travis Trahan, Grayson LaCombe, Michael Trahan, Jerratt Trahan and Reese Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric McFarlain, Rusty McFarlain, Nathan Trahan, Josh LaCombe, Kyle LaCombe, and Jake (Tray) Trahan, III.
