Mary Rosalie White, 91, of Ottumwa, died at 7:22 p.m. April 8, 2021 at home. She was born January 18, 1930 in Iowa to Buhlis and Myrtle McCutchen Hopkins. Rosalie married Richard C. White on April 29, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2010. A graduate of Blakesburg High School, she was secretary at Washington Junior High and James Elementary where she was devoted to the students. She enjoyed chaperoning school trips to Washington D.C. and other locations, retiring in 1997. Rosalie enjoyed bowling, traveling, going to casinos, and especially enjoyed being part of the community at Pennsylvania Place. Surviving are her children, Craig (Gary Kerndt) White of Iowa City and Vicki White of Ottumwa; sisters, Delta (Allen) Tanquay of Jackson, MI and Judy Malone of Joplin, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, DeWayne Hopkins. Her body has been cremated and no services are planned. Private inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
