Mrs. Melinda Sue “MeMe” Zornes Gilbert, age 33, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday evening, April 8, 2021, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born June 2, 1987, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of Douglas and Becky Hobbs Zornes. MeMe enjoyed four wheeling, playing basketball, being outdoors and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jason Allen Gilbert; one son, Jason Gilbert II of Vanceburg, Kentucky; one daughter, Addison Paige Gilbert of Vanceburg, Kentucky; two brothers, Darrell Zornes and Tyson Zornes, both of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and one sister, Connie Fields of Aberdeen, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
