<p>Mr. Monroe Alexander Blackwell, Jr., passed, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury.&nbsp; Mr. Monroe was born in Rowan County on, March 16, 1950 to the late Monroe Alexander Blackwell, Sr., Hattie Clement Bates.&nbsp; He was educated in the public schools of Rowan County, having attended Dunbar High School.&nbsp; He was last employed at Lexington Furniture Company in Upholstery.</p> <p>In addtition to his parent&#39;s, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Gladden and a sister, Alethea Blackwell.</p> <p>Those who remain to cherish fond memories are his devoted wife, Patricia Ann Blackwell of the home, son, Monroe A. Blackwell, II, Spencer, NC; daughers, Shimika Nyree Gaither, Norcoss, Ga., and Neisa Blackwell, Texas; brothers, Graylin (Marie) Blackwell, Salisbury and Michael (Samantha) Blackwell, Spencer; sister, Renae Blackwell, Georgia; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.</p> <p>Service: 1:00 pm. Saturday, April 17, 2021, Union Chapel AME Zion Church, 4329 Sowers Road, Linwood, NC&nbsp; 27299.&nbsp; Visitation at the church from 12 noon until time of the service. Rev. Donna Cuthbertson, Pastor, eulogist.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Mr. Monroe Alexander Blackwell, Jr., passed, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury.  Mr. Monroe was born in Rowan County on, March 16, 1950 to the late Monroe Alexander Blackwell, Sr., Hattie Clement Bates.  He was educated in the public schools of Rowan County, having attended Dunbar High School.  He was last employed at Lexington Furniture Company in Upholstery.
