<p>Sadly, with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorne Clarence Sharpe in hospital, Shawville, Quebec at the age of 78. Son of the late Lennis H. Sharpe and the late Hazel Nola Way. He leaves behind his wife Edrie Hodgins of 54 years, son Stephen, daughter Janet (Brian) and the very special grandchildren Sydney and Jacob. He will be missed by siblings; Marie (Boyd), Brent (Audrey), Clayton (Barbara), Ronald (Florence) and Joy (Claude). Predeceased by his brother Bruce (Mary Ellen). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Lorne started his career with Pontiac Rural Telephone in Shawville at the age of 18, transferred to Continental Telephone in Campbell’s Bay and later transferred to Telebec where he finished his career of 34 years. Lorne’s passion was working with animals. Starting early with race horses and would later find his passion in breeding Simmental cattle. He enjoyed participating in many fairs and exhibitions and would share his enthusiasm with anyone interested. </p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel, Shawville, Quebec in the intimacy of the immediate family only. Donations to the Shawville United Church would be greatly appreciated. </p><p><br></p>
