Allen M. Vieira, 71, of Springfield, died at 11:22 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Sunny Acres. Allen was born on May 29, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Moses and Virginia L. Nelson Vieira. Allen earned a master’s degree from Eastern IL University. He worked as a Special Education Teacher for over 30 years. Allen was a member of the YMCA. He enjoyed biking, playing chess, and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Gay Vieira of Springfield; and numerous cousins including, Patty, Mary Ann, Tammy and Leah. Private family ceremonies will be held. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
