Mr. Terry T. Harris

<p>Terry T. Harris passed away April 5, 2021 at 10:07pm at the Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born on May 20, 1959 at the Queen of the World Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents William J. (Dickey) Harris and Harrietta Davis Harris. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Carlton Harris and one sister, Nickie Richardson.</p> <p>Terry grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Eighth Street Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas under the leadership of Rev I. H. Henderson, Sr.</p> <p>Terry attended Dunbar Elementary School and Northeast Jr. High School. He was a graduate of Sumner High School class of 1977. He furthered his education attending college for two years, he got certification&nbsp;as a counselor. He was employed at Owens-Corning plant in Kansas City, Kansas until he started suffering from a tumor growth around his spinal cord.</p> <p>Terry had surgery which resulted in his disability that impaired his walking, but he continued to thrive. He was very independent, outgoing, well respected, never met a stranger, always well dressed and continued to love Cadillacs.</p> <p>In 2017 he volunteered for the Salvation Army, Kansas City, Missouri,&nbsp;and later became an employee as a Celebrate Recovery Ministry Assistant.&nbsp;Terry sponsored many men in recovery,&nbsp;by listening to their concerns and providing encouragement and support. He was always available with a listening ear no matter the day or time. He had compassion for those he supported because he was also a recovering addict. Through the Missouri Credentialing Board, Terry was a certified counselor.</p> <p>Terry loved the Lord and knew who he belonged to, he read and studied the bible every morning. He also loved sports and whenever possible he would watch all sports.</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Harrietta Davis Harris; two sisters, Jammie Day (Maurice) Williams and Lanita Brown; one brother, Alfonzo&nbsp;Harris; special cousin, Christopher (Kecia) Harris; special aunts, Gwendolyn Long and Gladys Williams a host of other relatives and friends.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held &nbsp;Wednesday, April 14, 2021, 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones &amp; Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones &amp; Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.</p>
