Ashley M. Hartshorn

"Loving Wife & Mother" Canton – Ashley Marie Wolfe Hartshorn, 32, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Patrick McCarthy and Brenda Beaton Padgett. Ashley was preceded in death by grandparents, Edward McCarthy and Patricia Russo. Ashley was a cheerleader in high school, and received the Lady Eagle Award her junior year in 2001. She enjoyed helping others and visiting at the Community Kitchen. Ashley worked at Carolina Ophthalmology for eight years. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 12 years, William F. Hartshorn; one daughter, Hailey Hartshorn and two sons, Aidan and Alexander Hartshorn, all of the home; father-in-law, William Davis Hartshorn, Jr.; mother-in-law, Shirley Hartshorn; six sisters, Kayla Wolfe of Houston, Texas, Rebecca Wolfe of Fairview, Melissa Smith of Houston, Texas, Emily McCarthy of Braintree, Massachusetts, Sarah Smith of Virginia, Taylor St. Angelo of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Bethany and Adam Peck of Concord; one brother, Sean Smith of Virginia; two step-fathers, Timothy R. Smith and Thomas Padgett of Houston, Texas; a step-mother, Sue McCarthy of Massachusetts; nieces and nephews, Raven Richardson and, Z'yon Brown, of Houston, Texas, Charlotte and Kylie Smith, of Virginia, and Lincoln and Sawyer Peck, of Concord; loving grandfather, Clyde H. Beaton of Colorado; aunts and uncles, Lisa Shea, Brenda Rozzi, Susan L. McCarthy and David McCarthy, all of Massachusetts; Bruce McCarthy and Lorna Siros of New Hampshire; and several loving cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Canton Central United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Brown and Reverend Scott Pace officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
