To view the funeral service of Mr. Darnall, proceed to: https://youtu.be/AkqSKS3pGeQ Mr. Frank Nelson Darnall, age 82 of Benton, KY, died Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, KY. Nelson was born September 15, 1938 to Sue and Garvin Darnall. On December 2, 1961, he married Kathleen (Kathy) Lyles. The couple were married more than 59 years. Other than his service in the United States Air Force, Nelson was a life-long resident of Marshall County. He worshipped at Mount Olive church of Christ where he served as an elder for over 30 years. Nelson was devoted to his church and his family which has been beyond blessed by his Christian example. He will be greatly missed. Nelson was employed by the General Tire and Rubber Company in Mayfield, KY, for 30 years. In addition to his wife Kathy, Nelson is survived by two children, Mike (Toni) Darnall of Benton, KY and Janice Wallace of Mayfield, KY. He is also survived by grandchildren Avery (Ashlynn) Darnall, Mikayla Darnall, Blake Wallace, Emily Wallace, and Bella Darnall, and step-grandson, Jeffrey (Rachel) Jett. He leaves one brother, Larry (Jeanette) Darnall; one sister, Garvilene Collins, several great-grandchildren, one step great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Don. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at Collier Funeral Chapel, 211 West Fifth Street, Benton, KY. Dan Sikes and Mike Ernstberger will officiate with interment to follow in Lyles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 9th, 2021 at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mercy Health Lourdes hospital and the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center for their kindness and care of Nelson during his illness.
