Lester Paul Huff was born September 15, 1954 in Junction City, Kansas to the union of the late Lester Leslie Huff, Jr., and Delores Jean Taylor. Lester departed this life on April 5, 2021 after a brief illness in Kansas City, Kansas. Lester served in the United States Marine Corps. He held various jobs throughout the Kansas City area. He was very proud of serving and assisting the clients at the local community center in the City. Lester was an avid and experienced chess player. In his honor the local community center has decided to rename their annual Chess Tournament to the Lester Huff Annual Chess Tournament in dedication to long-term participation he held at the community center. Lester is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dana Timothy Huff, and sister, and Michelle Denise Huff. Lester is survived by his special friend, Gena Decker; brother, Mark Anthony Huff and his sister, Goldie Jean Yvonne Huff-King. His loving nieces, Adrianna VanZandt, Lanae Marie Smoaks and Tori Huff. Two nephews, D’Michael Huff and D’Marko Huff; and four grand nephews, Jordan Christopher Huff, Elijah Logan VanZandt, Jonah Nathaniel VanZandt and David Lee Smoaks, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Lester will be fondly remembered for his fierce love of all his family.
