<p>Marhkis Jay McDermott, 15 of Westerville, Ohio was embraced by&nbsp;his Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday morning&nbsp; April&nbsp;4, 2021 at 4:07am. Marhkis was born on February 6, 2006 in Columbus, Ohio to Amy J. McDermott and William A. Turner. He attended Walnut Springs Middle school in&nbsp;Westerville. Marhkis was first and foremost a child&nbsp;of God and followed Christ in all aspects of life. His love for Jesus allowed him to be an inspiration and light to all. His love and commitment to follow Jesus gifted him unwavering faith inspiring all he encountered.&nbsp; &nbsp;Marhkis&#39; positive outlook on life and love for others was both effortless and authentic. He was a dedicated son, grandson, brother and friend. His kind soul, beaming smile and positive energy brought light into the dark with no room for enemies.&nbsp; A talented hip-hop dancer, Marhkis entertained himself and everyone while moonwalking his way into your heart. Marhkis was his name and Michael Jackson was his game!&nbsp; He was vivacious and energetic, yet an old soul&nbsp;with an eclectic group of friends from all ages.</p> <p>Marhkis is survived by his parents, Amy McDermott and William Turner; grandparents, Seth and Sherry Pymer, Henry and Kayln Falk, and William White; brothers, Tyler (27), Justin (24), Drew (22), William (21), Trey (18), Niko (6); sisters, Kamryn (21), Mya (15), Charlie (4); nephews; Nazayah (11), Kingston (7), Karter (5), Maceo (2) , Tru (2); childhood best friends Kohen and Samantha Kornegay; Godmother Kristen Brown; bonus parents Randy and Susan Mather.&nbsp;</p> <p>Marhkis&#39; legacy forever lives on through his recorded testimony whereby explaining his inner peace came from trusting God. Even in times of not understanding the &quot;why&quot; of life&#39;s struggles, his life truly exemplified his faith.</p> <p>Please join us in a public Memorial Service on Saturday April 17th at 6 pm at Grace Fellowship Church located at 1449 Refugee Rd. Marhkis Jay McDermott, 15 of Westerville, Ohio was embraced by his Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday morning  April 4, 2021 at 4:07am. Marhkis was born on February 6, 2006 in Columbus, Ohio to Amy J. McDermott and William A. Turner. He attended Walnut Springs Middle school in Westerville. Marhkis was first and foremost a child of God and followed Christ in all aspects of life. His love for Jesus allowed him to be an inspiration and light to all. His love and commitment to follow Jesus gifted him unwavering faith inspiring all he encountered.   Marhkis' positive outlook on life and love for others was both effortless and authentic. He was a dedicated son, grandson, brother and friend. Marhkis' legacy forever lives on through his recorded testimony whereby explaining his inner peace came from trusting God. Even in times of not understanding the "why" of life's struggles, his life truly exemplified his faith.
