Obituary

Darion Quinn Lemon was born in Honolulu, HI to Marion and Diann Lemon on September 18, 1986. He unexpectedly departed his earthly life on April 6, 2021.

In early childhood, Darion accepted Christ and pleaded with his parents to be baptized at five years old.

Darion was raised as a “military brat” but made roots in Columbia, SC.  Darion was educated through the Richland County Public School System and graduated from Lower Richland High School in 2004.  He further his education by attending South Carolina State, and earned his Bachelor of Art’s degree in Psychology.

Darion was a hustler, sometimes working two jobs, not getting any sleep and fussing at whoever disrupted his short naps. He worked at various companies and was most recently employed by the United Parcel Service (UPS). His outgoing personality, and infectious smile meant that Darion did not meet strangers on the job, but instant friends. His friends were not only his friends but became his family!

Darion was funny, caring and outspoken. He always believed in being true to himself no matter what anyone else thought. He didn’t mind giving you a good read, and a hug afterwards. Darion was a traveler and would not hesitate to hop in his car and hit the road.

He was known by various nicknames; Whether it was Mr. Boom-Boom, DQL, DQuitie, Brista, or as his loving mother would call him Lil Rilo due to his huge afro.  Of all of these, the one which touched his heart was to hear his nephew Kayden call him “Uncle”, which Darion would reply “Nephew” or “Hey my main man”.

Darion touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.  He leaves to cherish to his memory: Loving Parents Marion and Diann Lemon; sister, Kelly Prout (Tyrell), his adoring nephew Kayden; Grandparents, Charles and Chars Kennedy; god sister, Taurean “Tee” Daniels and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.
