Delila Jane Heilman, 87, of Fredericksburg, was called from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the home of her son in Charlotte, NC after a period of declining health.

Jane was born Jan.12, 1934 in Stillwell, Holmes County, OH to the late John C. and Nellie (Mellor) Williard and married Darwin C. Heilman, Jr. on April 24, 1954.  Junior preceded her in death on June 24, 1995.   She was a faithful and active member of the Fredericksburg Church of Christ.  She was a trained EMT and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fredericksburg Fire Department.   Jane was active with the Fredericksburg Homecoming for many years, volunteered with the Fredericksburg Library, the Fredericksburg Blood Mobile of the American Red Cross, served on the local election board, and as a driver delivering Meals on Wheels in Holmes County.

Known too many in the community as “Aunt Jane”, she enjoyed sewing, especially quilting. She loved her cats as they brought her comfort.  She was a giving person who would help other in their time of need.  

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Darwin C. (Phyllis) Heilman of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, John Eric (Rebekah) Heilman of Concord NC and Kurt Phillip Heilman of Charlotte, NC, Great-granddaughters Emma Lynn, Lilian Kate and Olivia Grace Heilman and a brother, Lynn A. Williard of Holmesville.  She was aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Williard of Big Prairie and a sister, Miriam K. Shedron of Nashville.

 Services will be held Saturday, April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Jerimiah Scadden officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00.  Interment will be in the Fredericksburg West Cemetery immediately following the service.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Central (Fredericksburg) Fire Department or the American Red Cross.
