MIDLAND CITY…Joyce Hyde Tollett, a resident of Midland City, died Wednesday afternoon, April 7, 2021, at her home. She was 74. UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the graveside services will now be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 9, 2021, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tommy White, Pastor Doug MacCormack and Brother Larry Hyde officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Baptist Church, 3551 Flowers Chapel Road, Dothan, AL 36305. Mrs. Tollett was born in Clarkson, Mississippi and reared in Mathiston, Mississippi. She formerly lived in Winter Garden, Florida, Spring City, Tennessee and Montverde, Florida before moving to Midland City in 2007. Mrs. Tollett was a member of the Pathway Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. Hyde and Jewel Lewis Hyde, and her brother, Jerry Hyde. Surviving relatives include her husband, Steve Tollett; her daughter, Vicki Tollett Price (Chuck),Valrico, FL; her son, Stephen Daryl Tollett (Tina), Newton; two sisters, Mary Hyde, Jackson, MS; and Elizabeth Holand, Mathiston, MS; two brothers, Jim Hyde (Belinda), West Point, MS; and Larry Hyde (Debbie), Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Sandy Hyde, Dothan; three grandchildren, Chase Price, Chloe Price and Kaitlyn Rice; two great-grandchildren, Barett Rice and Brooklyn Rice.
