Obituary

Cecile Ann Chandler, 1936 - 2021

Cecile Ann Chandler was born in Northfield, Minnesota. Cecile was preceded in death by her son Patrick, and her husband Loren. She leaves behind a plethora of family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Cecile served the world in so many wonderful and loving ways. She had an incredibly unique ability to direct the lives of all she touched through her focus on peace and virtues. A wife to Loren for 61 years, an amazing mom to eight kids, a loving sister to 15 siblings, and a servant of God.

A funeral mass will be held for Cecile at St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Richfield, MN on April 17th, 2021. In lieu of gifting flowers, please consider donating to an Alzheimer’s/dementia research organization of your choice.

The following is a tribute from Cecile’s children.

Mom (Cecile) was our mom: Charles (Chuck), Holly, Patrick, Adam, Dana, David, Vicky, and Sam.

Mom was many things in her life, all great! The Bible says we are God’s masterpiece, our mother is more proof of this truth.

Our mom was an artist. Mom would draw our favorite characters (dinosaurs, unicorn, transformers, Mickey Mouse) on our paper lunch bags. We loved it!

Our mom was the law. In the kitchen she had her stash of wooden spoons. I think y’all understand.

Our mom was a ten-star general. No other general could master the command of 7 little kids in the grocery store.

Our mom had compassion like no other. If we had a passion, then our mom would love and support our passions.

We don’t want to give you the impression that Mom was all about her kids, she was so much more - she had her own passions too.

Mom was comfortable in who she was and what she wanted or needed. This allowed her to love bigger than most everyone.

Mom loved the arts, all the arts. Giving her family an appreciation for theater, sculpting, music, and so much more.

Mom loved to dance. Dad and Mom would Polka dance whenever possible. A cousin or neighbor would watch us kids, and off the folks would go for a night of dancing.

Mom loved having friends over for card games. Card games would normally be played after us kids went to bed. The house would be filled with laughter. What kid wanted to go to bed with adults laughing in the dining room?

Did your mom make the best soup and have you say your prayers before bed?

Did your mom read you books and tuck you in bed?

Did your mom love you the best she could? I pray your mom loved you the best she could; what more could one ask of a mom.

Our mom was a “yes” to all these and much more.

What a blessing our mom was and truly is in our hearts. This was just a glimpse of our love for our mom. I pray you have an abundance of love for your mom too.

Mom, we love you, appreciate you, and will miss you very much! Angel, take wing!

God Bless.
